overview

The Taj Cape Town is a luxurious tribute to the grand architecture of the original South African Reserve Bank and the old BoE building, constructed in 1890. The building has been impeccably restored, and features interiors designed to recreate an era of glamour with a distinctly Indian influence. The hotel is ideal for guests wanting an upmarket holiday experience where no detail is missed and every opportunity for refinement is offered.

The hotel is located within walking distance of the Company Gardens, St George’s Mall, St George’s Cathedral and Greenmarket Square, and is ideally situated for easy access to all of Cape Town’s attractions. Nearby must-see sites include Table Mountain, the excellent beaches at Camps Bay and Clifton, and the world-class shopping at the V&A Waterfront. For the ultimate in pampering and relaxation, guests can visit the Jiva Grande Spa for a range of traditional Indian wellness treatments.

Specialising in innovative international and local dishes, this intimate restaurant has an open-plan kitchen, a floor to ceiling wine wall and a private mezzanine level.

The contemporary and elegant Bombay Brasserie is located on Wale Street, and offers a selection of fine Indian speciality dining. The wonderful high ceilings, luxurious décor and fine dining make the Brasserie a wonderful dinner choice.

In the old Temple Chambers building is Twankey, a cosmopolitan seafood, champagne and oyster bar.
