overview

Vilanculos is known as the gateway to the Quirimbas Archipelago and against the coast of this small, yet lively town, you'll find the exquisite Vilanculos Beach Lodge. Ideal for families and friends, the lodge offers all the luxuries in a relaxed and casual atmosphere.

The lodge is constructed from natural materials like thatch and local hardwood, creating an earthy touch yet retaining an elegant finish. Head out in the day and enjoy a range of water sports, like fishing and snorkelling. Diving here is excellent; the coral reefs of the Archipelago offer some of the best diving spots in Africa. Hire one of the boats and enjoy a relaxing trip on the Indian Ocean or take a trip into town to explore the markets and meet some of the locals. Other activities include horse-riding on the beach, island hopping, kayaking, and kite-surfing.

Traveller Reviews

  • Vilanculos Beach Lodge - rooms were really beautiful. Small but fine for what we needed & nicely appointed, comfy beds. The pool and outlook was beautiful. The food was pretty good, a little bit hotel- ish but fine. There just wasn't that much atmosphere there and the resort was half empty even though it was over Christmas. We got out and about and did a Dow boat trip on Christmas Day which was awesome and discovered the Casbah! Loved it. But the resort was fine, did the job and a good price for the location. Nice people who worked there though English was a bit of a struggle but hey we are in Mozambique!!

  • Presidential suite was indeed very nice. Food at the hotel was good and the scuba diving was very good.
