overview

Set on the fringes of the Okavango Delta, Banoka Bush Camp is situated in the remote and largely untouched Khwai Community Concession and overlooks the hippo pools and floodplains of the Khwai River. This tented safari camp combines traditional thatch, wood and canvas materials with stylish, comfortable décor in a relaxed, beautiful setting. It's a big game paradise. Explore the concession on guided nature walks or glide silently through the waterways on a traditional mokoro (canoe) to quietly approach a variety of animals.

Morning and afternoon game drives provide more opportunities to see elephant, lion, wild dog and other delta wildlife – often without seeing another game viewing vehicle. For further wildlife viewing, you will venture into the nearby Moremi Game Reserve, one of Africa's greatest conservation areas.

Traveller Reviews

  • Both Stanley's Camp and Banoka Bush Camp were really remarkable, from the landscape and wildlife, to the accommodations and food, to the managers, staff and especially the guides.

    Jean DeSimone, July 2014
  • At Banoka we felt spoiled by the staff, accommodation and food were very good. Our guide was skilled and interesting but the vegetation at that time meant game was quite hard to find.

    Maxine Dilley, June 2014
  • "Banoka Bush Camp" - Amazing!!! There were some times that we didn't see any animals - however, overall the game viewing was amazing. In just 2 days, we got to see many elephants, buffalos, wildebeests, giraffes, zebras, hippos, leopards (we saw them every day!), velvet monkeys, kudus, baboons and wild dogs!

"A really lovely bush camp, often visited by elephants. I really like the warm, intimate feel of this camp and the food was some of the best I've tasted."
