Set in the heart of Hwange National Park in northern Zimbabwe, Somalisa Camp is a truly exceptional and romantic tented camp enjoying daily visits from elephants coming to drink from Somalisa's waterhole, one of few permanent sources of fresh water in the area. This camp blends old school charm with wonderfully warm service, generous and delicious home cooking, and all the comforts you want in a setting as peaceful as these savannah plains and their acacia islands.
Experience the natural beauty and abundant wildlife of the Kennedy Vlei line on thrilling game drives and guided bush walks with inspiring guides. Majestic kudu, sable and rare roan antelope are regularly seen, as are lion, hyena and white rhino, but undoubtedly, the highlight of your stay will be sitting quietly on the deck just across the pool from a herd of elephant as they and their babies quench their thirst! Somalisa Camp offers a truly memorable setting to discover Zimbabwe's Hwange National Park.
Somalisa is the setting for two intimate tented camps - Somalisa Camp and Somalisa Acacia. Other than when you first arrive or if you stroll around the site, you are not aware of the other camp. The camps face in opposite directions and each one overlooks its own waterhole. Both are very intimate, Somalisa has just six suites while Acacia has four, including family-friendly suites. Essentially, having two luxury tented camps on one site means that small groups and families can enjoy the privacy of Acacia while other guests remain undisturbed at Somalisa Camp.
