The exteriors of the suites are white-washed and built in the traditional Cape Dutch style, with gables and thatched roofs while the interiors are clean, contemporary, and spacious. In the summer months, the predominantly white decor and furnishings allow for a cool atmosphere, while during winter, the rooms are heated by the open hearths.

Traveller Reviews

  • Babylstoren is out-of-control beautiful - we sacrificed wine tasting elsewhere just to hang out there (could have stayed a third night easily - it truly made us slow down and take it all in). The food was crazy as it was mostly grown there.

    Chris Adamo, August 2016
  • Babylonstoren was amazing and we loved everything about it and every minute we spent there. The surrounds, the accommodation and the food was incredible. We will definitely be back.

    Matthew Smythe, February 2016
  • Babylonstoren was amazing – the accommodation was clean and beautiful, the location was great and overall it was very hard to fault at all!

    Ilana Mycock, February 2016
  • I have not stayed anywhere like Babylonstoren before. The rooms, food and attention to detail was incredible - everything had been thought of, but in a very understated way.

    Caroline Perry, February 2016
  • Babylonstoren was a real highlight for us. Elke thought it was akin to the Alhambra in Spain (but better maintained). It is such a unique place with the vineyard, orchards and animals. As we wandered around I had a real sense of the generations of work and commitment to get it to its current state. The accommodation was so comfortable and the staff were a complete delight. And I had a transportational massage! All in all, an unforgettable place. Thanks so much for everything. We had a great time.

    Tammy Ingram, January 2016
  • We loooooooooved Babylonstoren. Can’t rave enough about Babylonstoren. We loved our two-bedroom cottage. Very comfortable and loved the food. No complaints whatsoever.

    Justine Donohoe, January 2016
  • What can I say, divine in every sense of the word and we were sad to not have 3 nights here. We were seriously impressed! If we ever come back to SA this is the first stop on our list and I have not stopped telling people about it.

    Leah Arnold-Phillips, October 2013
  • Everything on our trip was fantastic. The transfers and hotels were top-notch and trouble free. We loved the Babylonstoren property as pe ust a shame we had so little time to spend there.

    Stacy Townson, November 2012
  • Our last 4 nights at Babylonstoren were memorable.

    Peter Rouhi, October 2012
  • Babylonstoren - well, what can I say... we didn't want to leave. It was perfect. I really can't think of anything they could have done better. Food delicious, wine too, very cosy cottage with everything you might need. Comfiest hotel beds ever. The staff were attentive but not overbearing. The gardens are beautiful. There has obviously been a great deal of attention paid to detail there, and it shows. We definitely want to go back. A wonderfully relaxing place.
