Situated just south of Mombasa, this owner run and managed holiday home offers an intimate, private stay that gives the idea of an exclusive, seaside home. Ideal for romantics, Tijara Beach accommodates no more than ten people at a time, in separate villas along a secluded beach. This romantic haven offers ultimate peace and tranquillity, with beautiful tropical grounds that are home to prolific birdlife, and a variety of wild animals Just off the coast, you'll find a beautiful reef ideal for spectacular snorkelling excursions.

The area is also occasionally visited by dolphins, whales and sea turtles that you'll be able to spot from the crystal clear waters. A short walk will bring you to a magnificent historical cave that is thought to have been used for slave trading, where you can explore the many chambers and shafts. Within an hour's drive, you can visits sites for deep sea fishing, kite/wind surfing, Tamarind dhow rides, scuba diving and swimming with whale sharks. Return to your quiet piece of paradise for a massage, dip in the pool, or a private, candlelit meal for two while you watch the sun set over the ocean.

The freshwater swimming pool is the ideal place to spend the afternoon soaking up the sun, sipping on a cocktail, and cooling off in the crystal clear waters.

Dining

The evening meal begins with pre-dinner drinks in the lounge, before you make your way to charming dining room where you'll enjoy your meal. Look forward to delicious, homemade meals, featuring local and international flavours and many delicious seafood dishes.

For a more private, dining experience, why not ask for a private dinner to be set up in a romantic spot with candles and personal service.

Standard Cottage

The four luxury cottages are designed in the Swahili tradition and are spaced generously apart for ultimate privacy.

Each cottage has a large open deck offering beautiful views of the Indian Ocean and easy access to the beach. The rooms feature ceiling fans, beautifully carved doors and high mukuti (coconut thatch) roofs. The furniture is handcrafted by locals and the en suite bathrooms feature double basins and a double shower.
