Set on glorious Matemwe Beach in Zanzibar, Matemwe Beach House is a private beach villa perfect for families or small groups. Set in lush gardens and only a few steps from the beach, this luxurious villa has its own plunge pool and is surrounded by breathtaking views of the Indian ocean and Mnemba Island.

Also the ideal destination for honeymooners, beach lovers and water sports enthusiasts, the beach is shared with only a fishing village at its far end but it's easy to arrange excursions to must-see places in Zanzibar or to pop over to Mnemba Island for a day trip. Massages and spa treatments complete the deal.

Facilities

Facilities at Matemwe Beach House include a swimming pool and spa, set in the villa's landscaped gardens, as well as a laundry service and bar.

Your personal butler will ensure that your needs are met and will help to plan trips and activities as well as serve meals and act as your housekeeper.

Adventurous activities include sea-kayaking and other water sports.

Children are welcome at the villa and will love to play on the fine white sands with beach bats, kites or frisbees or grab some snorkelling gear, all available free of charge at the Matemwe Water Sport House.

For something more romantic, the 'Escape to Infinity' trip is a visit to a secluded sandbank and includes breakfast, brunch or lunch, a bottle of sparkling wine, snorkelling, sailing in a traditional dhow and loads of time to enjoy your glorious privacy.

Dining

At Matemwe Beach House, you eat whenever and whatever you decide. Your personal chef will discuss the daily menu with you according to your suggestions and whatever special deliveries or fresh fish have come in. The chefs are inspired by traditional Zanzibar cuisine with plenty of seafood and contemporary flavours on the menu.

Standard Room

Accommodating a maximum of six guests, Matemwe Beach House features two downstairs double bedrooms with fantastic views, comfortable beach decor and a beautiful mezzanine floor that can sleep two more people.

The Master Bedroom has a king-size bed covered by a mosquito net as well as an en suite bathroom with shower while the Second Bedroom has twin beds as well as an adjoining bathroom with shower and bath, shared with anyone staying on the Mezzanine Floor. There is also a convenient bathtub for infants.
