Encounter Mara is a luxury, tented camp located in the Mara Naboisho Conservancy, which is part of Kenya's famous Masai Mara ecosystem. The design of the camp is eco-friendly and consists of a central lounge tent with a view over a salt-lick, and an outdoor relaxation area. Go on both day and night game drives in the Masai Mara, with the camp's own expertly trained and knowledgeable Maasai guides.

Depending on the time you choose to visit, you may also see the annual wildebeest migration in the Mara, although this area is great for year-round wildlife viewing and offers excellent Big 5 sightings. The Mara Naboisho Conservancy offers a high density of wildlife and a low density of other tourists, making for a truly memorable safari away from the crowds.

Traveller Reviews

  • It was really terrific and staying in a small lodge in the Conservancy was a real bonus as all the Masai communities benefit directly with lease monies and employment of the Guides.

    Barbara Paroissien, September 2011
  • The Encounter Mara camp is very nice. Food was excellent. We were a bit disappointed by the individual tables at dinner time as we had enjoyed the group meals so much at Serengeti.

    Richard Mueller, September 2011
