Only a few miles from the equator, Loisaba is set in 60 000 acres of beautiful wilderness. Constructed from stone, local timber and thatch, the lodge is perched high on the edge of the plateau looking south towards Mount Kenya.

Explore this remarkable wilderness as you trek through the bush on camels, mountain bike down the escarpment, raft the Ewaso Nyiro, horseback ride or drive through the wild canyons of the 2 great rivers that span this vast area.

The ranch also owns a micro-light and aeroplane so there are limitless opportunities for you to try new and unexpected activities, such as a heli-camp, followed by surfing down the remote sand dunes of the Northern Frontier District, or rock-climbing the soaring pinnacles which thrust from the valley floor.

Dining

Expect innovative gourmet cuisine and silver service at Loisaba – recently a finalist for Best Safari Cuisine in Africa. Exquisite silver service meals are served in the main dining area.

However, for something more special, opt to dine in a selected and secluded location in the African wilderness.

Standard Cottage

Tucked within stunning manicured gardens, Loisaba Cottage consists of three double en suite bungalow rooms and a mezzanine room with a detached bathroom.

Additional features include a swimming pool, staff and guide, and a private game vehicle.

Other Room Types

Loisaba features seven spacious rooms with en suite bathrooms, overlooking the wilderness and Mount Kenya in the distance. Each room features its own private deck where you can unwind and enjoy the spectacular view.

On the edge of the escarpment, Loisaba House offers magnificent views over the ranch and is located a little way from the main lodge. Guests staying here have access to a private guide and game vehicle, as well as staff to attend to their every need.

Loisaba House consists of two spacious en suite bedrooms, surrounding a double lounge area, bar and dining room. The house also has a swimming pool, located at the foot of the garden, on the edge of the 1000ft escarpment.

The magnificent Star Beds comprises a large family platform that can accommodate up to four guests, with an en suite bathroom with a shower. The beauty of this suite is the ability to roll the bed out onto the deck to sleep beneath the stars.
