Meaning "protector of all living things” in Zulu, Londolozi is home to the "Big Five" and is said to have the best leopard viewing in Africa. Daily game drives and guided bush walks are tailor-made to ensure each guest enjoys an optimal balance of rest and play.
Londolozi Game Reserve was established as a family bush camp in 1926 and has been run by the Varty / Taylor families ever since. Newly refurbished, Londolozi has a choice of four exclusive camps and a safari lodge all set along the banks of the Sand River.
The five properties are hidden from view in dense riverine forest, and offer a sanctuary of meditative luxury within the Sabi Sand Reserve. The Londolozi experience caters for mind, body and spirit by combining spectacular game viewing with carefully selected exercises and therapies at the Life Centre.
Londolozi Private Game Reserve and the Life Centre fall squarely within the base area of the Nilotic Meridian (a line running north-south from pole to pole at 31 degrees east longitude) - known as the line of first time - which ensures that it is a place of great energy and significance.

Food and Wine
Food at any of the Londolozi safari lodge is both wholesome and delicious; favouring organic produce, free range game and herbs from the kitchen garden. Many of the recipes have been handed down through the Varty generations or were created in the Londolozi kitchens by world class chefs.
In their continuing drive to protect the environment the Varty family ensures that their seafood dishes are guided by the Southern African Sustainable Seafood Initiative, and that the number of imported ingredients is kept to a minimum.

Conservation
The aim of the Londolozi Land Care programme is not just to protect but also to restore the land. In 2003 Londolozi signed an agreement with the government department called Working-For-Wetlands to build erosion gabions and remove alien vegetation.
The results of Londolozi's model of wise land management can be clearly seen through the increase in the productivity of the land, and the numbers of animals that gather in the rehabilitated areas.

Wildlife
Londolozi is known for the remarkable relationship which has developed over three decades between wild free ranging leopards and ranger trackers. Usually regarded as elusive, these big cats are more easily observed on a Londolozi safari than anywhere else in Africa.
"Big Five” game viewing is also exceptional. Breeding herds of elephant and buffalo roam throughout the Londolozi area, whilst white rhino and lion concentrations are amongst the highest recorded on the African continent.
