Jenieen van den Heever - Welcome to my page!

About me

I lived on the Garden Route in George for most of my life but I've been living in Cape Town for the past two years. I love both the Garden Route and the Mother City as both are such stunning locations!

I love reading and travelling and doing activities such as shark-cage diving, hiking and wine tasting. I also love getting to know different travel destinations, the local people and culture and to experience everything possible. I enjoy visiting attractions that are not "on the map" as most of the time this is were you get some of the most memorable experiences.

Where have I travelled

I have been to Madikwe Game Reserve, Pilanesberg National Park, Sun City, Cape Town, the Cape Winelands, the Whale Coast and Garden Route and the Eastern Cape. I've also travelled to Namibia and Mozambique.

My favourite travel moment

Feeding the elephants at Pilanesberg. This was one of the most memorable moments of my life!

What I love about Africa

I love the diversity of our country: amazing coastal scenery on the one hand and the wild African bush and open plains on the other.

Some African travel advice

When packing for your African safari, it's best to pack for both seasons (cooler clothes and some warmer items) as Africa, and especially Cape Town, is known to have more than one season in a day!

Where I'd love to go next

I would love to go to Mauritius and Zanzibar!

The beauty of Africa is in the diverse cultures and experiences you will encounter whether you are on honeymoon or a family vacation - oh, and nothing beats an African sunset!

Read what our Travellers have to say

We had a great time in South Africa. The Radisson Blu hotel was lovely; the room was nice and large, we had a great view from the bedroom across the marina towards the waterfront centre. We did shopping, cinema, & a city tour. The car was delivered at the hotel bang on time as you had organised. The drive across to George went well and Fancourt was absolutely gorgeous. What a beautiful place - we would love to go back there one day! We went to the ostrich farm and the Cango wildlife ranch just outside Oudtshoorn, and our daughter had a great time riding the ostrich and getting her photo taken with the various animals. The drive to Plettenburg was lovely and Plettenburg Bay itself was gorgeous. The Robberg Cottage Pie hotel was so nice and fantastically situated just over the road from the beach. We went to the elephant sanctaury, the Birds of Eden, Monkeyland and the Jukani wildlife park and they were all brilliant - really well organised. The restaurants in Plettenburg were very good value for money. All in all it was a fantastic holiday and we saw lots of places that we would like to go back to one day.
