Anza Snyman - Welcome to my profile!
About Me
I grew up in Cape Town, lived and worked in Holland for a year after school and travelled Europe during that year. I studied Public Relations and Tourism in Stellenbosch on my return to South Africa and started working in the Travel Industry in 1998. Over the past 14 years, I have worked for several Inbound Tour Operators, managed a lodge in the Okavango Delta and owned a small Tourism business. My highlight was living on an island in the Okavango Delta. I love the Delta!!
I love running, yoga, playing piano and singing, travelling and meeting new people. Most of my time is however spent with my lovely husband and two children. We live in the countryside as we could just not face living in a concrete jungle after returning to South Africa from Botswana!
My passion for travel started in Europe, but my true passion for Africa started on my first game drive in South Africa in 1999... I stayed in the Timbavati Game Reserve. I can still remember getting up close to a pride of lions...since then I've been hooked! I love our beautiful country and our wildlife and bush.
Where have I travelled?
Locally - all over South Africa: Cape Town, Garden Route, West Coast, Northern Cape, Eastern Cape, KwaZulu Natal, Kruger and Mpumalanga. In Africa I've visited Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe, and have also been to Mauritius and the Seychelles.
Internationally I've travelled to Holland, Belgium, Germany, Paris, London, Switzerland and Spain.
My favourite travel moment
Walking with three elephants in the Okavango Delta - Tembi, Jabu and Marula. It was absolutely magical.
What I love about Africa
The sounds and the smells of the African bushveld, specifically falling asleep with the sound of hippos in the background and waking up to the sound of birds singing in the Delta. Oh yes, and our beautiful African sunsets.
Where I'd love to go next
I'd love to visit Zambia's National Parks and combine that with a trip to Malawi.
