My Travel Recommendations

I'd love to inspire you with my travel recommendations. From off-the-beaten-track lodges in Zambia's South Luangwa, to the tented camps of the Masai Mara, here are my favourites.

  • Uganda Fly-In Gorillas, Chimps & Wildlife

Uganda Fly-In Gorillas, Chimps & Wildlife

Location: Uganda - Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda - Bwindi National Park, Uganda - Entebbe
    WHY I RECOMMEND IT

"This combined road and air safari is packed with adventure and experiences in Uganda… you’ll track chimpanzees around the Kyambura Gorge area, enjoy wildlife game drives in Queen Elizabeth National Park, do a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel to spot animals and birds, look for the tree-climbing lions in Ishasha and track the mountain gorillas in Bwindi Forest – while staying at comfortable lodges with great locations."

  • Fly-in Rwanda Gorilla Trek

    Fly-in Rwanda Gorilla Trek

Location: Rwanda - Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda - Kigali
    WHY I RECOMMEND IT

"Fly in by helicopter and stay at the beautiful Volcanoes Virunga Lodge for your Rwanda gorilla safari and enjoy the most spectacular views of the Volcanoes and twin lakes."

  • Chindeni

    Chindeni

Location: Zambia - South Luangwa National Park
    WHY I RECOMMEND IT

"This is a lovely little bush camp that’s located deep within the South Luangwa bush. The setting is absolutely beautiful, overlooking a lagoon where you can watch wildlife come to drink water. The luxury tented rooms are extremely spacious and offers a good mix between luxury and authentic safari style accommodation. This is a superb bush camp option for your authentic walking safari experience."

  • Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge

    Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge

Location: Uganda - Bwindi National Park
    WHY I RECOMMEND IT

"A small luxury lodge in the southern part of Bwindi with beautiful stone cottages as well as a family cottage. Perfect for tracking the Nkuringo gorilla family."

  • Somalisa Acacia

    Somalisa Acacia

Location: Zimbabwe - Hwange National Park
    WHY I RECOMMEND IT

"A small and intimate camp in Hwange National Park with beautiful tented rooms raised on a wooden platform. Enjoy game viewing at the water hole in front of camp from your room or the main area, or go out on a game drive for superb elephant sightings. We saw buffalo and elephants drinking at the water hole while we were there one night. The camp has two family units and two standard rooms so it's perfect for families and for honeymooners."

Read what our Travellers have to say

The trip to Kenya was beyond amazing and all three lodges surpassed our initial expectations we had for them. Even though they are all Saruni lodges, they each gave us a completely different experience. The really only complaint we could possibly have is that Rick and I weren't that great on getting Isabelle covered with bug repellant the first night in Samburu and she was eaten by them but James got us some bug repellant for her that worked much better than what we had with us that we used for the rest of the trip. The tracker/guides we had were fabulous with Isabelle and catered to her needs which in return made our lifes much easier! The staff at all three lodges were fabulous, making sure our needs (primarly Isabelle's needs) were met, food was great and there isn't anything negative we can say about the trip at all. We have already decided that we will be making a trip back to Africa a yearly vacation after experiencing this last trip.
