Sharon Kemp - Welcome to my page!

About Me

I have been a Durban girl for most of my upbringing until recently, where  I believe I made the right decision to follow my husband's dream and move to the beautiful Mother City, Cape Town.

I love spending time with family and friends and nothing has made that more apparent than with my move. I always wanted to travel and it was all oddly enough from my sporting background and wanted to go all over and watch sport from different arenas.

Where have I travelled?

In South Africa: Battlefields of Kwa-Zulu Natal; Drakensburg; Eastern Cape; Garden Route and Cape Town and Kruger. In Africa I have had the privilege of going to Botswana and experiencing the rolling "sea" of wilderness.

Internationally I've visited the UK, France and Madrid.

My favourite travel moment

This is a very difficult one to say as there have been many magical moments!  I would have to say that one of my most memorable moments was on honeymoon in Phinda Forest Lodge and not even 10 minutes into our evening game drive, did we happen to "bump" into my favourite member of the Big 5, an elusive leopard perched in the fork of a tree with its meal close by! It was a sight to behold!

I also have to mention an elephant interaction I was privileged to experience in Botswana. It was daunting to stand next to this mammoth animal but interacting with Jabu the elephant was something I'll never forget.

What I love about Africa

The diversity of Africa is truly mind-boggling and wish I could see, touch, taste and experience  more!

Some  African travel advice

Make sure you bring along an adventurous spirit to experience all that is on offer; a camera to capture those memorable moments (with lots of memory sticks) and suntan lotion!

Where I'd love to go next

Again, this is a tough one as there are so many spectacular sites in Africa. I would love to see the great migration in the Serengeti; one of the 7 Natural Wonders of Nature, Victoria Falls and then there's the natural beauty of the Indian Ocean Islands.

It is always a great day in Africa!  Nothing can beat the sensations that being in the African bush arouses; the smells, the sounds and the sights will entice you to return again and again.

Read what our Travellers have to say

We both enjoyed our African experience. It certainly met our expectations in every way. We were also quite impressed with the arrangements that you made for us, each driver on our transfers was always on time, very knowledgeable and always with a nice vehicle, more than once making a detour to see something that we should not miss such as the statue of Nelson Mandela at the prison gate near Paarl. The Cape Grace was a great location with impeccable service. Le Quartier Francais, was a mix-up the first night on our room but they more than made up for it and we would certainly return. We wished that we could have spent more time there.  Fancourt was a lovely golf resort, also with great service. The courses were challenging and well-manicured. The safari was the highlight of our trip which included five other countries. Our ranger Justin and our tracker Chris were outstanding. We were amazed on each drive on what they were able to find for us to view and how close we were able to get to the animals. The bottom line is we had a great time and would highly recommend Go2Africa for anyone planning a trip to Africa. Thank you Sharon!
