About me

Growing up in Cape Town, I’ve had the good fortune of travelling from a young age with my family. Having explored various areas of Southern Africa, my passion for new experiences has sparked a desire for travel, both locally and internationally. I enjoy being outdoors and in nature, surrounded by animals, being social and learning about new people and cultures.

After completing my studies, I moved to Thailand for a year and visited Myanmar, Cambodia, and Vietnam. I loved planning all the aspects of my next adventures and the excitement of going somewhere new. From backpacking on my own and with friends while meeting fellow like-minded travellers along the way, I found myself encouraging travellers to visit Africa and see for themselves what incredible experiences await them. I returned to our beautiful continent am now even more passionate about travel and sharing the wonder of Africa.

Where have I travelled

I have done extensive travel in South Africa: the Winelands, the Garden Route, Sun City, Madikwe Private Game Reserve, the Kruger National Park, Johannesburg, kwaZulu-Natal and more.

In Southern Africa, I have camped in parts of Namibia, white-water rafted down the Orange River, visited Victoria Falls, gone on safari in Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe, have cruised down the Chobe River, and visited beautiful Zanzibar.

My favourite travel moment

One experience that always stands out for me is a 6-day guided walking safari I did in Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park in kwaZulu-Natal. As a group, we spent our days walking through the reserve surrounded by wildlife, carrying only our essentials. Being out in the reserve on foot, I was captivated by the noises, scents and my surroundings. I was very humbled by this experience; it was an absolute privilege to be immersed into the magic of an authentic African wilderness.

What I love about Africa

Africa is really a special place, as there is always something happening and never a dull moment if you’re in the mood for an adventure. With such extensive diversity, each country holds a variety of cultural, historical, and natural beauty different from the next.

My best African travel advice

Always stay optimistic and open to adventure. Go with the flow and appreciate the journey!

Where I’d love to go next

Mozambique is on top of my list. I’ve already started planning my trip and I’m looking forward to diving, exploring the tropical islands, experiencing the local culture and, of course, indulging in sea food! Malawi, Kenya and Tanzania are also some of the destinations I would love to experience.
