About Me
I've lived in Cape Town, London, Wisconsin and Vermont but always return to Africa! Cape Town is definitely always home for me and so settling back in has been easy after so much travelling. I love photography, fine dining, working with enthusiastic and friendly people, travelling as much as possible and trying to explore a new place every year. Getting out of Cape Town for a weekend is always an adventure and a great way to unwind after a busy week in the city.
My passion for travel began with postcards being sent to me from all corners of the world from my father who was in the Merchant Navy. I was introduced to new places on a monthly basis and my own travel began when I left school and started exploring Africa and the world.
Where have I travelled
In South Africa - the Garden Route, Kruger National Park, Eastern Cape, KwaZulu Natal. In the rest of Africa - Mozambique, Namibia, Botswana, Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Zanzibar and Egypt.
Internationally - USA, Canada, England, Ireland, France, Holland, Madeira, Norway, Italy, Vatican City, Germany, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand.
My favourite travel moment
Soaring above the Masai Mara in a hot air balloon and my hour with the mountain gorillas in Uganda's Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
What I love about Africa
Its diversity and friendly people!
My African travel advice
Always take wet wipes with you on safari, plus a smile, and consider each African experience, whether it is a flat tire or an impromptu musical karaoke night with the locals as an adventure to remember.
Where I'd love to go next
The remote camps of the Okavango Delta or perhaps a beach break on one of the Indian Ocean Islands (Mauritius or Seychelles)
