About Me

I've lived in Cape Town, London, Wisconsin and Vermont but always found myself returning to Africa! Cape Town is definitely home for me and so settling back in has been easy after so much travelling. I love photography, fine dining, working with enthusiastic and friendly people, travelling as much as possible and trying to visit a new place every year. Getting out of Cape Town for a weekend is always an adventure and a great way to unwind after a busy week in the city.

My passion for travel began with postcards being sent to me from all corners of the world from my father who was in the Merchant Navy. I was introduced to new places on a monthly basis and my own travels began when I left school and started exploring Africa and the world.

Where have I travelled

My latest trip took me to the Sabi Sands and, in particular, to a couple of my favourite places such as Kirkmans Camp, Sabi Sabi and Dulini. The predator viewing was a highlight with daily sightings of leopard, just what the Sabi Sands are known for!

In South Africa I’ve been to the Garden Route, Kruger National Park (Kapama Game Reserve and Sabi Sands included), the Eastern Cape and kwaZulu-Natal.

In the rest of Africa, the list consists of Botswana, Mozambique, Namibia, Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Congo, Kenya, Tanzania, Zanzibar and Egypt.

Internationally, I’ve made my way around the USA, Canada, England, Ireland, France, Holland, Greece, Madeira, Norway, Italy, the Vatican City, Germany, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand.

My favourite travel moment

It is so hard to pick one, I have to mention three. Firstly, seeing wild dog for the first time in Samburu, soaring above the Masai Mara in a hot-air balloon and my hour with the mountain gorillas in Uganda's Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

What I love about Africa

Its diversity and friendly people!

My best African travel advice

Always take wet wipes with you on safari, plus a smile, and consider each African experience - whether it is a flat tyre or an impromptu musical karaoke night with the locals - as an adventure to remember.

Where I'd love to go next

A beach break on one of the Indian Ocean islands like Mauritius or the Seychelles.

As a photographer I often get stuck behind the lens. Take time out to just experience Africa, its sounds, smells, sights and its magic. You will be back before you know it.

We had a wonderful time in Amboseli. This was our first safari ever and we really enjoyed it. Kilimanjaro put up a great show for us too! I will be happy to recommend Go2Africa to my friends here. Thanks again for the great vacation. We hope to visit again soon!
