About Me

A small-town upbringing in northern Namibia was never going to be enough for me and after completing my education in South Africa, I started my career in travel and I still love it as much as I did when I started way back in 1994. I returned to Namibia in 2013 and take every opportunity I get to explore this country of contrasts.

Where I have Travelled

I recently visited Kenya, Tanzania and Zanzibar with a few of my colleagues, which was a ‘dream come true’ trip! We managed to fit in so many experiences: from flying in a hot-air balloon over the Masai Mara, to a game drive in the Serengeti where our vehicle was surrounded by thousands of wildebeest… and then snorkelling off Mnemba Island in Zanzibar.

I’ve also journeyed all over Southern Africa, including Mozambique. Next on my bucket list is gorilla trekking in Uganda and Rwanda.

My favourite travel moment

Sipping a gin and tonic on the banks of the Zambezi! One of my other most memorable safari experiences was flying in a hot-air balloon over the Masai Mara. A more recent highlight was driving in the Serengeti in our open safari vehicle, when we were unexpectedly surrounded by literally thousands of wildebeest.

What I love about Africa

You can't beat Africa for its amazing mix of mountains, oceans, deserts and game reserves - it really is the perfect holiday destination.

People will always have a yearning for Africa, the huge spaces, the wildlife, its pristine environments - it affirms that life is not always about materialism. And there's nothing I like more than when my customers share the same sentiments.

Thank you so much for organising our trip Madelein, we had an amazing time and loved it! Kwandwe was fantastic and very special, thank you for chosing that game park. Would highly recommend it to anyone. We had a wonderful ranger and 'front man' who were so knowledgable and found us all the Big 5, including a leopard, which was awesome.. and many other animals too. I think we were lucky (the animals not so much so) that there had been such a drought because the grass was very sparse and we could see lots more easily. I do hope they have had some rain now as they were all very worried. St Francis Bay was fun but unfortunately we had a lot of rain. Met up with friends which was good though and played golf with them (some in the rain was not so good!). We stayed one night at Emily Moon in Plett and it was very special place - such a fantastic location and very querky! Loved the area as so beautiful - bit cold to go swimming though! Our drive along the Garden Root from Fancourt to Cape Town was fantastic, we loved the scenery and finished off driving along Chapman's Peak Drive round the coast to Cape Town - stunning! Loved our final nights in Steinberg and of course Cape Grace with that wonderful view. All in all it was great fun and thank you so much for your organisation.
