Gelle Ritchie - Welcome to my profile!
I grew up in Richard's Bay in Zululand, and moved to the Western Cape as a student and decided to make this place my home. I love the outdoors, adventure travel, nature, photography, reading autobiographies and travelling - my favourite is going to the bush!
There is nothing like sitting around a campfire under the African skies and talking about the day's experiences or lying in your tent and listening to the calls of the wild. My passion for travel has always been a part of me. What a honour and privilege to help clients experience the magic of Africa for the very first time!
Where have I travelled
Locally - Kruger Mpumalanga, the Garden Route , KwaZulu Natal and around the Western Cape. In Africa I've visited South Africa, Nambia, Botswana, Zambia, Victoria Falls, Malawi, Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda. I've also travelled to Europe and the USA.
My favourite travel moment
Coming face to face with the mountain gorillas; seeing the Ngorongoro Crater for the very first time; and swimming in the ocean in Zanzibar. Also, driving in a Land Rover with some friends from Cape Town to Tanzania. (We survived!)
What I love about Africa
The people, the wildlife, scenery and we really do have the most amazing sunsets.
Some African travel advice
Soak up the sun, sea, and beauty and enjoy the incredible wildlife and people. Let things run on African time and allow the African sunrise and sunset determine your day. Take loads of photos!
