Candice Eseme - Welcome to my page!
I was brought up on the Cape Flats and had a really awesome childhood. My best holiday was when the family went to Plettenberg Bay: I fell in love with this beautiful town, its white beaches, the amazing weather and the great atmosphere just made it more enjoyable. I knew that I wanted to take my own family there one day!
Today I am a mom of three and can't wait to show my children the wonders of South Africa. I love the simple things in life: a warm comfortable bed, good wholesome food and activities to keep the kids busy.
In summertime I love the being outdoors, enjoying nature, the great weather and taking the kids for a picnic at Kirstenbosch. During winter I love to cuddle up and keep warm with the fireplace going, watch movies and play board games.
Where have I travelled
Locally I've been to Hermanus, the Cape Winelands, the Garden Route, Sun City and Pilanesberg National Park.
My favourite travel moment
We were at Knysna Elephant Park along the Garden Route and my six-year old daughter was fascinated with these gentle giants. While stroking one of the elephants, she got a bit too close and received a little kick from the ellie. Not to worry though, she was fine, just realised that you do not mess with these animals!
What I love about Africa
Growing up very sheltered from the outside world in my small community in Cape Town. All I wanted to do was go to America when I grew up, not realising the awesome and exciting destinations right under my nose!
When I met my husband, who comes from Cameroon, my eyes were opened up to what lies beyond the borders of South Africa. Africa possesses a natural wealth that you will find nowhere else in the world. I am proudly African!
Some African travel advice
Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen! Try to do something that the locals do and have as much fun as you can.
Where I'd love to go next
Victoria Falls, Botswana and Mozambique.
