Fatima Davids - Welcome to my page!
Since I'm a born-and-bred Cape Town girl, I naturally consider Cape Town to be the best city in the world! It's got beautiful beaches, Table Mountain, friendly people, great shopping and a list of activities and sights that could go on forever.
After I matriculated, I got my diploma in Travel and Tourism and have been working in the travel industry since 2004 and really enjoy it. I love seeing different places and experiencing different cultures but, no matter where I go, I still think Cape Town is the best. In my spare time I love baking and spending time with my family.
Where have I travelled
When it comes to local travel, the Garden Route is my favourite getaway; it’s relaxing, fun, scenic, just absolutely breath-taking and away from the hustle and bustle of Cape Town. I've had the opportunity to travel to Sun City, which was really amazing and had something for everyone to do.
I have recently been on an Eastern Cape safari and at first I was not sure I would get the true ‘safari experience’ as I had previously been to Madikwe Private Game Reserve and fell in love with the bush. On our first game drive in the Eastern Cape we spotted all of the Big 5 and hippo. My 5-year-old son was with us and he was blown away. We even got woken up in the middle of the night by the huffing and puffing of the hippo in the riverbank at the lodge we stayed at.
The highlight of my different safari experiences was watching elephant and zebra walk by while I was lying in the bathtub! Where in the world would anyone experience such a rare and wonderful moment? It has left an imprint on my heart forever.
Internationally, I've been to Saudi Arabia and Cairo and did an East Asia tour of Malaysia, Phuket and Bangkok. This was a wonderful experience but nothing compares to Africa!
My favourite travel moment
Lying in a bathtub filled with bubbles overlooking Madikwe and watching elephants walking to the waterhole…
What I love about Africa
Everything... the beaches, mountains, the Big 5, the food, the amazing people.
