Tracy Payne - Welcome to my profile!

About Me

I am a born-and bred-South African and grew up on a farm two hours outside Cape Town. I attended school in Cape Town and now live full time in the city. I have lived abroad in both the United States and the United Kingdom and have travelled extensively around Southern and East Africa as well as internationally.

Travel is something that's in my blood and I just love it! I grew up in a family of adventurers and we travelled often, so the travel bug bit early on and I have continued to visit new and exciting places. As much as I love travelling, I love the fact that I can play such a big role in making sure my clients have unforgettable holidays with lasting memories.

Where I have travelled

I undertook a 3-week visit to Uganda and Kenya in November 2016 and what a trip it was! I had many highlights but the two that stand out have got to be tracking the gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Uganda and doing a hot-air balloon safari over the Masai Mara.

I have also travelled all around South Africa including the Garden Route, the Kruger National Park, Madikwe Private Game Reserve and kwaZulu-Natal. In Southern Africa I have travelled to Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Victoria Falls, Mozambique and Mauritius. I have also had the opportunity to visit Tanzania.

My international travels include the East Coast of the USA, the UK, Europe, Argentina, Bali, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Australia.

My favourite travel moment

I have been fortunate to experience so many special and unique travel moments but I would have to say one of my most memorable moments was flying over the Okavango Delta in a helicopter. It was spectacular to view this iconic travel region from above and see hippo playing in the water down below. Very special and a memory that will stay with me for a long time to come!

What I love about Africa

I love Africa because it has so much diversity. It is such a large continent but yet so easy to get from one iconic region to the next. One minute you can be enjoying a game drive in the famous Kruger National Park and the following day you are standing on Table Mountain admiring the city of Cape Town! I keep returning to Cape Town after my travels abroad and maintain that I live in one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

My best African travel advice

When travelling to Africa there is so much to consider and so many hotels and lodges to choose from, that's why my advice to you is, trust an expert to compile the perfect holiday for you! I have been working in the travel industry since 2001 and have travelled to and experienced the properties and regions that I sell.

Where I'd love to go next

There's still so much of Africa to see! My next trip will most certainly include a visit to the idyllic islands of the Seychelles and perhaps some more of Namibia.

Thanks for the follow up as we were meaning to write you one way or another to say thank you. We'll definitely recommend Go2Africa again. The trip was perfect. We feel we did everything we wanted and that South Africa was a perfect destination for us - we are missing it terribly right now! Appreciate your attention to details and especially on the smaller things like reservations and cars. We loved the variety and it was the perfect mix of seeing a lot but also not rushing too much and having at least a couple nights at each place. And your recommendation to do safari at the end was spot on. Every new visitor to SA in my opinion should know right off the bat that while safari is truly amazing, Cape Town, the surrounding coast, Garden Route and of course wine country needs to be explored and given equal attention. And for people who like the outdoors, food, culture etc - SA is perfect.
