Tracy Payne - Welcome to my profile!

Blog Posts & Recent Travels

I've just travelled to Tanzania for the very first time - what an amazing country. My absolute highlight was viewing the Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa's most iconic destinations. Have a look at my on-page gallery to see some of my photos!

I also recently discovered the magical Okavango Delta in northern Botswana - it truly was the trip of a lifetime! Here's a photo of my colleagues and I at Chief's Camp in the Delta.

About Me

I am a born and bred South African and grew up on a farm two hours outside Cape Town. I attended school in Cape Town and now live full time in the city. I have lived abroad in both the US and the UK and have travelled extensively around Southern Africa as well as internationally.

Travel is something that's in my blood and I just love it! I grew up in a family of adventurers and we travelled often, so the travel bug bit early on and I have continued to visit new and exciting places. As much as I love travelling, I love the fact that I can play such a big role in making sure my clients have unforgettable holidays with lasting memories.

Where have I travelled

I have travelled all around South Africa including the Garden Route, Kruger, Madikwe and KwaZulu Natal to name but a few. In Southern Africa I have travelled to Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Victoria Falls, Mozambique and Malawi.

I also recently visited East Africa where I explored Tanzania and had the opportunity to view the iconic Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti National Park.

My international travels include the east coast of the USA, the UK, Europe, Argentina, Bali, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Australia.

My favourite travel moment

I have been fortunate to experience so many special and unique travel moments but I would have to say one of my most memorable moments was flying over the Okavango Delta in a helicopter. It was spectacular to view this iconic travel region from above and see hippo playing in the water down below. Very special and a memory that will stay with me for a long time to come!

What I love about Africa

I love Africa because it has so much diversity, such a large continent but yet so easy to get from one iconic region to the next. One minute you can be enjoying a game drive in the famous Kruger National Park and the following day you are standing on Table Mountain admiring the city of Cape Town! I keep returning to Cape Town after my travels abroad and maintain that I live in one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

Some African travel advice

When travelling to Africa there is so much to consider and so many hotels and lodges to choose from, that's why my advice to you is, trust an expert to compile the perfect holiday for you! I have been working in the travel industry for twelve years and have travelled to and experienced the properties and regions that we sell.

Where I'd love to go next

There's still so much of Africa to see! My next trip will most certainly include a visit to Kenya and perhaps a few nights on the idyllic islands of the Seychelles...pure bliss! Gorilla trekking in Uganda or Rwanda is also certainly on my bucket list...

Internationally, I would love to explore more of Asia or maybe even spend a fortnight in a villa in Tuscany!

Africa is a truly special place, it will creep into your heart and I assure you, you will be back for more!

Read what our Travellers have to say

While enjoying one of South Africa's beautiful evenings (and a nice wine) we were trying to work out how many times we have been there.  We figure that since 2002 we have been in South Africa 8 times and that we have had 12 safari experiences.  Most of these have been arranged by you, Tracy.  We discovered early on that local/national travel agents here in Ireland don't understand the product well enough and are mainly interested in selling us an off the shelf package.  One of those was enough for us. What keeps taking us back?  Jacinta and I tell our families and friends that a safari holiday is the ultimate holiday as it combines activity, an exciting game drive, with luxurious accommodation, fine food, exceptional quality of service (and did I mention the nice wine?).

The attraction of the safari experience for us was being able to see the animals behaving normally in their natural state. The mobile safari provides a really close experience with the animals and great photographic opportunities which Jacinta makes the most of. We 'graduated' from the mobile safari to walking safari a number of years ago. On foot you are much more attuned to the animals environment with the smells of the bush e.g. Wild aniseed.  The walking safari provides a more intimate experience, but a bit more terrifying.

After our last safari we did not think it was possible to match the experience never mind improve on it, but you did.  We think that this was the best yet. Tracy, we cannot thank you enough for the experiences that you have arranged for us over the years.  What I like about your approach  is that you really listen to what we want and then match the accommodation and experience.  Regardless of the number of times I change our requirements you just get on and sort everything.

Before going on this trip we were saying that this will probably be our last safari. Usually in life you cannot go back and relive an experience without it being a disappointment.  However, the safari experience just seems to get better and better. Many thanks for sorting out our last minute crisis. Can you be sure to pass on our sincere thanks to everyone who was involved and particularly to the woman who retrieved our passports.  She was so gracious for someone whose Friday night had just been interrupted.
