- Day 1: Lake Manyara National Park

Your tour begins as you make your way from Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park, which lies on the floor of the Eastern Rift Valley in Tanzania.
Your first night on tour is spent at Lake Manyara Serena Lodge, set on the edge on the Mto Wa Mbu escarpment with incredible views over the park.

In the morning you descend into Lake Manyara National Park for game viewing, returning to the lodge for lunch. In the heat of the day lion can be seen stretched on the branches of flat-topped acacia trees - a habit only endemic to Manyara lions. Along with these amazing tree-climbing lions there are the usual browsers and grazers as well as around 380 species of birdlife.
After lunch you drive to Ngorongoro Crater, where you overnight at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge.

From Nairobi you are driven to the Samburu National Park in Kenya's rugged and remote Northern Frontier District. After lunch you go on your first game drive in this dramatic landscape - a lava plain with steep-sided gullies and rounded hills.
You spend the night in one of the natural stone cottages at Samburu Serena Safari Lodge, on the banks of the Uaso Nyiro River.

In the evening you can scan the beautiful view of the river; spotting wildlife such as elephant, monkeys and crocs.

The swimming pool at Mara Serena is a definite highlight, you can cool off after your game drive and still watch game on the plains far below.
