Whether you choose to experience Botswana from the private game-viewing deck of your luxurious tented suite or from the comfortable simplicity of a rugged bush camp, there will be no doubt that you are experiencing something quite unique.
Our Botswana accommodation choices are as varied and awe-inspiring as the destinations themselves, and such is the level of luxury and sophistication at many of the lodges that you may not want to leave.
Pom Pom Camp - Its location in a private concession means that there are plenty of activities on offer at Pom Pom. Explore the teeming floodplains and open grasslands of the Okavango Delta by 4X4 vehicle or on foot and then take to the water on a traditional canoe.
The guides are excellent and you'll be more than pleasantly surprised at the level of comfort back at the lodge: large walk-in tents with en suite bathrooms and superb views over a hippo-filled lagoon are the order of the day at Pom Pom Camp.
Little Vumbura - This exclusive and very intimate lodge lies tucked away on a small island deep in the northern Okavango Delta.
It's a particularly good area for wildlife, and since the lodge is on a private concession there are tons of activities on offer: spend the day exploring this wetland paradise by boat, canoe, 4X4 and on foot - or you could just relax on your private veranda...
Savute Under Canvas - The area of Savuti (also called Savute) is the wild heart of the Chobe National Park and it is here that you can experience a safari as it used to be: under canvas. The large walk-in tents are airy, cool, luxuriously furnished and have an en suite bathroom.
With only 6 tents, Savute under Canvas is a very exclusive and intimate affair while game drives take you to all the hot spots. Savuti is not only famous for its placid elephants and large concentration of predators; the rainy summer months see a little-heard-of migration as thousands of zebras arrive to graze the grasslands - and the big cats are waiting...
Kings Pool Camp - Often heralded as one of Botswana's most luxurious camps, Kings Pool Camp is also famous for its excellent wildlife.
Located north-west of the Chobe National Park on the little-visited Linyanti River, Kings Pool is ideally situated for fantastic game viewing. Explore the eclectic mix of habitats (wetland, savannah, open woodland and forest) by 4X4 vehicle and on foot before easing into another star-filled night of fine food and wine back at the lodge.
The thatched tented rooms are packed with everything you need to make your stay a most luxurious one, including a private deck and plunge pool - Kings Pool will not disappoint.
Botswana accommodation is predominantly located in the Chobe National Park, Moremi Game Reserve, Okavango Delta, Savuti and Linyanti/Kwando areas - and are professionally-run lodges and safari camps with a firm emphasis on delivering a matchless wilderness experience.
The choice can be fairly bewildering so read our Chobe Accommodation and Okavango Delta Accommodation features for all the information and advice you need on Botswana's 2 most popular travel destinations.
And there's more: you may be surprised to learn that Botswana is home to some of the most sumptuous, indulgent safari accommodation on the continent - check out our best Botswana luxury lodges for our top selections.
It is strongly recommended however that you reserve all your Botswana accommodation as far in advance as possible.
Most of the lodges and camps in Botswana are very small and availability for much of the accommodation in Botswana is at a premium - particularly during peak season (the dry winter months between May and October).
Have a look at our 'When to Go to Botswana' section to get your timing right as Botswana's 2 seasons are quite different from one another - and remember that the rainy summer months see many lodges offering seriously discounted prices.
Botswana has designed its tourism strategy around the "low impact for high yield" model and therefore you'll find that the accommodation is generally more expensive than other safari destinations in Africa.
However, we can guarantee that you won't be disappointed by your safari as all the lodges thrive on the air of exclusivity and intimacy, have excellent, knowledgable guides and are located in very remote and pristine wilderness areas - perfect, by the way, for a range of luxurious and intimate accommodation: check out our Botswana honeymoon section for specific romantic recommendations.

"I don't know about you but when I think 'camping' I think 'chiropractor' - after years of bad nights and burnt baked beans I've come to expect the worst. Imagine my surprise when we find an extravagantly laid dining table next to a roaring fire, and a smiling welcoming committee in full voice.
"Welcome to the Kalahari!" they sang and no sight was more welcoming than my spacious tent boasting a bed, table, lamp and separate long-drop toilet. The luxury - and attention to detail - didn't stop there: ice cold drinks, hot showers, good coffee and gourmet meals materialised out of thin air all the time we were there..." - Dominic Chadbon, 'Luxury Without Lodges - Nxai Pan', June, 2008.
