Intimate safari lodge located on the natural boundary of the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park, Botswana.
Footprints of the Lion: tracks were found each morning during construction of the camp.
Prime Location: view wildlife congregating around the waterhole in front of the lodge.
Gateway to the Makgadikgadi: a perfect place to explore these majestic saltpans.
Leroo La Tau is situated on the river bank overlooking the Boteti riverbed and the Makgadikgadi saltpans beyond. During the winder months, the river flows between the great Okavango Delta and the pans, but has since mostly dried up. This has meant that wildlife congregates regularly at the waterhole in front of the lodge.
Watch the massive herds of wildebeest and zebra congregate at the waterhole during the migration season between May and October, or spend the warm summer months viewing an abundance of birdlife.
Leroo La Tau means the 'footprints of the lion', named because of the unseen presence of lion in the camp during its construction. The main lodge is built out of natural reed, stone and thatch and is framed by individual Meru-style tents.
Spend your time at Leroo La Tau on game drives or guided walks into the saltpans or experience thrilling night drives in search of the lion that prowl the area. During the day relax in the plunge pool on the rolling front lawn, browse the library or chat with friends in the entertainment room.
Leroo La Tau is a luxurious excursion into the heart of the Botswana wilderness, and is an ideal spot to explore the Central Kalahari Game Reserve.
