Don't expect to sacrifice standards if you book a stay at one of the Delta's luxury lodges (as opposed to their even more expensive 'Exclusive' counterparts). Superb settings, comfortable accommodation and fine cuisine are on offer at camps in this range. Many of the luxury lodges are located in great game viewing areas and offer a range of activities to enable you to experience as much of the Delta as possible. All activities, park fees, meals and local beverages are included.
Khwai River Lodge - Overlooking the Moremi Game Reserve from its beautiful location on the floodplains of the Khwai River stands one of the Delta's longest established camps: Khwai River Lodge. Accommodation takes the form of 15 opulent tents that are more like rooms: large, well furnished and solid with raised, panoramic views over the Khwai's floodplains.
Stanley's Camp - Located in a private concession in the drier south of the Delta means that game densities around Stanley's Camp are particularly pronounced in the dry season (June to October). Exciting night drives and armed bush walks are also part of the package at a camp that prides itself on creating a colonial-era atmosphere with its eight classically appointed tents. Stanley's Camp also offers the rare optional opportunity to interact with semi-habituated elephants.
Chitabe Camp - Built on a tree island in a private concession that borders the Moremi Game Reserve affords Chitabe seclusion and the freedom to explore the many habitats of the area. It is a dry-land camp that has a reputation for great game viewing, particularly of predators. Day game drives and bush walks, together with spot-lit night drives guarantee a superb wildlife experience. The entire camp is raised up on wooden decking and shady walkways lead to a plunge-pool and the eight spacious tents, all comfortably furnished and with the choice of a shower under the stars.
