Often considered one of the world's finest wildlife destinations, the Okavango Delta is a pristine wetland in the middle of the baking Kalahari, dependent on the floods that arrive in the dry winter months.

The environment created by the Delta's floods is perfect for an astonishing array and number of animals, particularly as there are so many different habitats within the area - from deep water lagoons to dusty grasslands, dense woodland to sparkling floodplains - and as you can imagine, the wildlife often borders on the sensational.

And as our Okavango Delta Wildlife Guide demonstrates, such a natural resource is carefully husbanded by the Botswana authorities, who, together with the local communities and travel industry stakeholders, have created an impressive conservation legacy in the Delta so it can be enjoyed by future generations too.
