Superior tented safari camp on an island in the northern Okavango Delta, Botswana.
Wildlife - home to lion, leopard, lechwe, elephant, and buffalo as well as an abundant birdlife.
Variety - the large islands, floodplains and marshes provide diverse wilderness experiences.
Exclusive - for space for only 12 guests, this camp is utterly private, luxurious and secluded.
Duba Plains is perhaps the Okavango Delta's most remote camp, located in a pristine area, which can only be reached by air.
The camp is built on an island shaded by large ebony, fig and garcinia trees, and surrounded by expansive plains which are seasonally flooded - usually from about May to early October each year, depending on the rains in central Africa.
Duba Plains Camp offers a variety of activities, including game drives in open 4x4 vehicles, walking safaris and mokoro excursions (water levels permitting). You can also take night drives, which often provide opportunities to photograph Africa's elusive nocturnal animals in action.
The vast open grasslands are often isolated from the mainland by deep waterways, however, game viewing is a dramatic experience here as thousands of buffalo are hunted almost daily by up to 4 different prides of lions.
Lechwe, buffalo, elephant, tsessebe and warthog dot the savannah, and hippo are found in the deeper channels, and there are often productive hyena dens in the area that offer great hyena cub viewing.
LocationDuba Plains Camp is located on an island in the furthermost reaches of the Okavango Delta, in Botswana.
