Jao Camp is situated in the heart of the Okavango Delta, on a large and remote island. Access to the island is by aircraft only, ensuring you a private and secluded experience of the African wilderness.

This seasonal area experiences annual floods, which transform the dry summer plains into wetlands in winter, creating a diverse environment. The camp is positioned to accommodate excellent views of the floodplains and savannah, which can be enjoyed from the privacy of your private balcony or from the communal boma.

There are 9 spacious, thatched tented rooms, built under a canopy of trees, which have been artistically designed by renowned architects Sylvia Rech and Leslie Carstens. The rooms are positioned on raised decks and are connected to the main lounge and dining area by a raised walkway.

Relax and unwind in the open boma, where you can enjoy meals, excellent wines and exceptional views. The sala is ideal for a midday siesta out in African nature, and for a truly rejuvenating experience, you can treat yourself to a massage at the salon.

For an active, outdoor day, explore the delta waters on a mokoro (dugout canoe), or spend the day fishing. Day and night game drives as well as walking safaris are offered, giving you the opportunity to explore the surrounding wildlife.

Jao Camp is situated in the Jao Reserve, an area of 60 000 hectares, in Botswana's Okavango Delta.

The thatched main dining and lounge area is positioned for you to enjoy sundowners while you watch the sunset, and a candlelit meal can be enjoyed in the open air in the boma.

For those wanting a more private dining experience, meals can be enjoyed al fresco on your private deck. A selection of fine wines are available to complete your dining experience.

The camp sleeps a maximum of 18 guests in 9 spacious tented rooms, positioned on raised wooden decks.
