Savute Elephant Camp is set amidst towering acacia trees on the banks of the dry Savute Channel in a rugged, semi-arid, wilderness region of the Chobe National Park.

One of the features of the safari camp is its specially constructed "elephant proof" swimming pool. In fact, Savute Elephant Camp is known for its exciting year-round game viewing and excellent birdlife.

Game, which includes a resident pride of lion and rare wild dog, may be viewed from the large deck of the airy central lounge and dining area or from open safari vehicles during morning and evening drives.

A treasury of San rock paintings preserved at various sites a short distance from Savute Elephant Camp are a special attraction.

• Swimming Pool

Dinner at Savute Elephant Camp is served either in the comfortable lounge and dining area, or round the camp fire in the traditional boma - where your dining experience is enhance by the spectacular sight of the star-filled African night sky peeping through silhouettes of Camel Thorn and Acacia trees.

During the day there are plenty of snacks and tasty treats, like tea and coffee on morning game drives, and biltong (spiced dry meat) and sundowners adding to the evening game activity. In fact a total of six meals and/or snacks are served through the course of the day!

Accommodation at Savute Elephant Camp is in 12 luxurious twin-bedded tents with private timber decks.

Spacious en-suite facilities have a his and hers vanity unit and a dressing room area. Each tent in the safari camp is equipped with an electric heater, electric overhead fan and mosquito net.
