Wide Variety Of Facilities - the lodge offers a wide range of facilities such as a swimming pool, a specialised dive pool, dive shop, scuba instruction lecture room and volley ball court.
Diving & Fishing Paradise - it is widely accepted that Sodwana Bay is the Mecca of diving in South Africa, and offers the fisherman opportunities that could surpass one's wildest imagination.
Sodwana Bay lies within the Greater St Lucia Wetlands Park, a World Heritage Site. The name Sodwana derives from the Zulu word "Odwa" meaning "little one on its own", which refers to the small stream breaching the dunes from the Mgobozeleni-Shazibe lake system.
The estuary is the only substantial breach in 170km of dunes, and has provided an access to the beach. It has also provided a base from which divers can explore the southern-most coastal reefs in the world as well as from where fishermen can launch their ski-boats through the surf to enjoy some of the best game fishing in South Africa.
Due to the fact that there are no rivers flowing into the sea in the vicinity, the visibility is consistently the best on the South African coast, which means that excellent diving can be experienced throughout the year, particularly from October through to the end of July.
Deep sea game and marlin fishing charters can be arranged throughout the year, with the main season from October through to the end of April.
Facilities at the lodge include a swimming pool, a specialised dive pool, dive shop and scuba instruction lecture room, volley ball court and the Umvubu Conference Centre which can seat up to 50 delegates.
