Meet in Nairobi in the morning and drive north, passing pineapple and coffee plantations, agricultural smallholdings and large ranches. From the foothills of Mt Kenya, descend into the hot, arid Samburu National Park, arriving at Samburu Sopa Lodge for a late lunch and a 2 night stay.

Enjoy an afternoon game drive in the park to look for elephant, reticulated giraffe, Grevy zebra, oryx, gerenuk and the other species found in this park. Return to the lodge at sunset for dinner.

The following day, embark on an early morning game drive before breakfast, as well as a mid-morning and afternoon game-drive, breaking for lunch and arriving back in time for a delicious dinner.

After breakfast at Samburu Sopa Lodge, drive to the Sweetwaters Tented Camp in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy on the Laikipia Plateau, between Mt Kenya and the Aberdares range of mountains.

After lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drive in the conservancy with good chances of seeing black or white rhino (Kifaru - Swahili name for rhino), elephant, eland, gazelles and antelopes.

Also experience a visit to the chimpanzee sanctuary, which was created by Jane Goodall to give safe refuge to chimps rescued from cruel captivity.

After breakfast, drive to the Great Rift Valley, to Lake Nakuru National Park where you will be staying at Lion Hill Lodge for the night.

In the afternoon, enjoy an exciting game drive through the park returning to the Lodge before dinner.

Lake Nakuru was declared a national park in 1961 and it now covers an area of some 180 km2.You will see warthog, waterbuck and large numbers of impala; slightly shyer residents include buffalo, Rothschild giraffe, eland, the occasional leopard and both black and white rhino.

This lake offers one of the world's most spectacular wildlife sights: brilliant pink flamingos as far as the eye can see.

When conditions are right, between one and two million lesser and greater flamingos feed around the shores of the shallow soda lake, together with tens of thousands of other birds

After breakfast drive along the floor of the Rift Valley to the Masai Mara, Kenya's most famous wildlife reserve, to the Sarova Mara Camp, where you will spend your last 2 nights.

The lodge is built around a natural spring and the forest trees and undergrowth are sanctuary to many different birds, as well as bush buck and dik dik.

After lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drive until sunset. Elephant, lion, cheetah, hyena, buffalo, wildebeest, zebra, topi and many other species live in the open savannah grasslands and riverine forests.

The next day will see you enjoying a full day of wildlife viewing in the magnificent Masai Mara and in the heat of the afternoon, you can cool down and relax by the camp's pool.
