Kenya is the original African safari destination and even today the parks and reserves of Kenya offer the archetypal African panoramic - wide open spaces, the flat-topped acacia trees and an abundance of game.

And a Kenya Safari wouldn't be complete without the Main Feature: Kenya plays host to what is considered the greatest show on earth, the Great Wildebeest Migration, when the vast herds of zebra and wildebeest pass through the Masai Mara.

Other well known parks include the enormous and little-visited Tsavo National Park and Aberdare National Park, famous for its accommodation and for the fact that it is where the then Princess Elizabeth was informed that she was Queen after the death of her father.

The classic African image of the snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro forming a backdrop to acacias and animals may be seen in the Amboseli National Park.

The Samburu National Reserve is in the more arid regions of Kenya but it provides a unique safari experience. With all the big game of other areas there are unique species such as the Grevy's zebra and reticulated giraffe.

Here is a list of all the parks and reserves in Kenya.
