As in most African countries, the majority of Kenyans (abut 66%) are Christian, reflecting the country's missionary history. Most Christian practice has a distinctly African aspect. The people love to build churches, and fill them on Sundays.

About 10% of the population is Muslim (both Sh'ia and Sunni coexist peacefully) and the majority of this percentage can be found living along the coast or in Nairobi.

Hinduism and Sikhism are also practised, along with a distinct minority of traditional and animist faiths, in Kenya.
