Kalokol is situated on the western side of Lake Turkana. This small fishing village has the enviable reputation of being the closest town to the lake - still a couple of kilometres away, though. It is possible to walk to the lake from here, an estimated two hour hike. Nearby settlements are Fergusons Gulf and Lodwar.
