- Day 1: Mombasa – Mukurumuji Camp

Arrive at Mombasa Airport and transfer to the base situated near the Indian Ocean for meet and greet and a brief orientation of Diani. This is followed by a short scenic transfer to Mukurumuji camp in the Sable Valley for lunch
After settling in to your tented accommodation, you are be given a full briefing and orientation before dinner.

The morning starts with a wildlife safety briefing, followed by a guided walk to spot elephants (which roam freely in the area.
Visit the local community and school before dinner. The evening ends with a basic Swahili lesson to assist in communication during your stay.

Spend five rewarding days participating in the school and community development programme at Mukurumuji. The work involves expanding and enhancing existing facilities, as well as building new ones.

A well-deserved rest day, and the choice of relaxing by the beach, doing some shopping, or enjoying one of the many optional adventure activities available at Aqualand Adventure Centre.

In the morning you are shown around a traditional local homestead of the coastal Swahili people by a specialist guide. This 'hands on' cultural experience could include basket weaving, roof thatching, as well as local food harvesting, preparation and cooking techniques.

Shimba Hills National Reserve offers beautiful scenery combined with a unique and botanically rich coastal rainforest. It is most famous for its sable antelope that are found nowhere else in Kenya, and is also a haven for the endangered Angolan black and white colobus monkey.
You have the opportunity to explore this area on a game drive before transferring to Mwaluganje Elephant Sanctuary. The sanctuary has the highest density (per sq.km) of elephants in Africa. Learn about elephant behaviour and the threats facing this amazing animal.
You overnight at Mwaluganje Elephant Camp, set on a hill overlooking the sanctuary.

After your wildlife safari, you have five more days to continue your worthwhile contribution to the community development programme.

Tsavo East National Park is a wilderness of contrasting panorama, river woodlands and cool mountain forests and is one of the largest national parks in Kenya.
Game drives start when you enter the park. As you drive slowly towards your camp look out for elephant, cheetah, lion, leopard, impala, warthog, buffalo, lesser kudu, baboons and vervet monkeys.
You have the opportunity to go on afternoon and night game drives, which give you the chance to spot more elusive nocturnal creatures.
On day 29 you will have a pre-breakfast game drive, before taking a slow drive to Buchuma gate where you will exit the park. You then transfer back to Mukurumuji Camp.
- Day 30: Community Farewell

As this is your last full day, you have the opportunity to say farewell to the people that you have worked so closely with over the past few weeks.
