Overlooking the endless game-filled plains of the Masai Mara and shaded by a dense forest canopy, Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp is an oasis of Hemingway-style tents and stone cottages below the Oloololo escarpment. Expert guides and resident naturalists will reveal the wonders of the Mara, and bring alive the magic of untouched Africa as it was hundreds of years ago, on interpretive game drives.
- Day 1: Masai Mara Reserve
- Itinerary
Upon your arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you will be taken to Wilson Airport to fly to the Kichwa Tembo airstrip. Once here you will be met and transferred by road to Kichwa Tembo Camp. The road transfer to the lodge, where you will be met and welcomed, is about 20min. Kichwa Tembo Camp staff are amongst the friendliest in Africa - and before long you will be whisked away to your tent. Depending on what time you arrive, enjoy lunch at the lodge before meeting your guide for tea and set out on your afternoon game drive. Kichwa Tembo Camp has some of the finest Land Rovers in the Mara and the open sided vehicles give you a spectacular view of the wildlife and birdlife. Return to the camp for dinner.
