Speke Bay Lodge

Standard safari lodge on the south-eastern shore of Lake Victoria, Tanzania.

  • Eco-Friendly - designed to have minimal impact on the surrounding environment, natural materials were used in the construction and solar panels are used to generate the hot water.

  • Cycling Excursions - small tracks in the Masamba Hills mean that the only method of transportation is a bicycle, the cycling trips are a great opportunity to get 'off the beaten track' and experience the landscape and people of Africa.

  • Serengeti Game Viewing - only 15km from the Western Corridor of the Serengeti National Park, where year-round water in the Grumeti River results in large resident herds of wildebeest and other game.

Speke Bay Lodge stretches along the southeastern shore of Lake Victoria in Tanzania, just 15km from the Serengeti National Park. The main buildings and luxury accommodation are constructed in the traditional style of the local tribe, the Sukuma.

Activities available at the lodge include excursions in boats on the lake and mountain bike trails, affording you a different safari experience. You can fish from the beach for tilapia, go out in a boat to catch Nile perch, or wander around the lodge's 100ha of savannah, and spot the many species of bird which inhabit this area.
