The 8 beautifully appointed thatched cottages, or bandas, are set well apart from each other, giving you the choice to be as private or as social as you wish.

Activities at Kizingo range from snorkelling on exquisite coral reefs and cycle rides to hospitable African villages on the mainland, through to a guided tour of historic Lamu Town. You could also watch over baby green turtles, swim with wild dolphins, take a therapeutic bush walk, or just relax on a tranquil sunset dhow trip.

At Kizingo fine dining or a glass of chilled champagne can be enjoyed in the dining room or at the bar, with its incredible views across the bay to mainland Kenya. Meals of a more private nature can be taken on the secluded balcony of your banda.

Delicious lunches and dinners are prepared using only the freshest locally grown vegetables with fish and seafood being the specialities. Remember to ask the barman Alex to mix a Dawa for you using local limes, guaranteed to provide a good night's sleep.

Each of Kizingo's 8 spacious bandas comes with its own shaded balcony complete with bamboo screens that unfurl to give you the solitude you desire.

The well-appointed en suite bathroom has a hot-water shower, and each room boasts a romantically draped double bed and comfortable chairs from which to take in the magnificent views of the Indian Ocean.
