Abundant Marine Life - dolphins, turtles and the occasional humpback whale frequent the area.
Paradise - a secluded lounge area overlooking the bay, provides the perfect place for unwinding.
For Everyone - a perfect retreat for both family groups and honeymooners alike.
Manda Bay is located on the north-western tip of Manda Island, one of the many unspoilt, idyllic islands found in the Lamu Archipelago. It lies in calm inshore waters on a long sandy protected beach.
For centuries this has been a calling point for the Arab dhow traders, a safe haven where nature is allowed to take its course without the interference of the modern world, and this tranquil ambience permeates the resort.
There's something for everyone at Manda Bay. You can enjoy the comforts and the beautiful setting, in addition to the activities on offer which include relaxing by the water or indulging in a massage.
If you're feeling energetic there are water sports such as deep sea fishing in search of the marlin and sailfish, windsurfing, water skiing and scuba-diving to name a few, cultural visits and dhow safaris. There's also a games room overlooking the sea, complete with a pool table, darts and table tennis.
You can enjoy delicious meals and refreshing drinks in the central dining and bar area, furnished with locally crafted Lamu furniture, which both overlook the calming Indian Ocean.
Cuisine at Manda Bay has a marine flavour, featuring freshly caught tuna, mangrove crab and prawns. However, if seafood is not to your taste the staff will be happy to comply with individual needs, and meal times are designed to fit in with your requirements.
Manda Bay's 12 beach cottages consist of 7 rooms set right on the seafront and 5 set slightly behind on higher ground. In keeping with the local landscape and artisans the cottages are constructed from, and decorated with, local materials.
Families can utilise 2 rooms in order to adapt them into a comfortable triple layout. All the rooms have large ceiling fans, en suite bathrooms and private verandas which overlook the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean.
