Lewa Safari Camp is based within the private 65,000 acre wildlife conservancy of the Lewa Wilderness Trust and is also home to a diverse array of wildlife in one of Kenya's most scenic natural areas.
Lewa Safari Camp is located within a wilderness area famous for its pristine beauty and remoteness. You can go on day and night game drives in open 4x4 vehicles and look out for the unique wildlife that has adapted to this semi-desert environment. The conservancy is home to 10% of Kenya's black rhino population and has the highest number of Grevy's zebra in the world.
The snowcapped peaks of Mount Kenya dominate the views to the south where the southern boundary rises to an altitude of about 6,500 ft above sea level. To the north the terrain drops away rapidly with breathtaking views of Samburu, Ololokwe and the Matthew's Range beyond.
Other excursions from the camp include camel and cultural safaris, Chalbi Desert and Lake Turkana flying safaris and fly fishing for Africa's largest rainbow trout on the Mt Kenya moorlands at crystal clear Lake Alice.
The Lewa Wilderness Trust, along with the camp, is committed to social responsibility as invests all of its profits into its essential programmes.
