Photographic opportunities abound in the Masai Mara.
The landscapes are mostly flat and although they are dramatic when seen in person, it's difficult to create great photographs out of them - unless you get up at the crack of dawn and are lucky with a striking sunrise, or unless you find an elevated quartz outcrop.
Unsurprisingly, by far the most commonly photographed subject is wildlife. Because the plains are so expansive a zoom lens is essential if you're intent on capturing dramatic wildlife shots.
