Narok

This small provincial town is the main access point to the Masai Mara Reserve. This is the last place to refuel or get a cold drink for over 100km and it also has banks and a post office.

Because this is a popular place to stop and stretch your legs, there is a rash of souvenir shops and hawkers with plenty of Masai shields and beadwork on sale. You will also notice the distinctive Masai people, their tall thin bodies clothed in traditional bright red robes.
