Meaning 'Head of the Elephant' in KiSwahili, Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp is located on a private concession leased from Maasai landlords in the exclusive western Mara.

Renowned as one of Kenya's best-loved safari lodges, Kichwa Tembo is set below the Oloololo Escarpment of the Great Rift Valley, affording great views of the Masai Mara's game-filled plains.

The main thatched guest areas include a welcoming bar/sitting area, indoor and outdoor dining areas and a well-stocked gift shop featuring African art, artefacts and safari-wear. The swimming pool is perfect for laid-back game viewing while cooling off.

Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp also presents you with the opportunity to explore the Masai Mara's Big 5 territory on morning and afternoon game drives in open 4x4 safari vehicles. Hot-air balloon rides, spectacular bush breakfasts or dinners, interpretive bush walks and night game drives can also be arranged.
