Little Governors' is an intimate camp set in such a tranquil and secluded spot, that it can only be reached by boat transfer across the Mara River, followed by a short escorted walk through the forest.

17 tents curve around a natural waterhole in the Masai Mara, which is often visited by warthog, hippo and elephant. The area is also home to Africa's 'Big 5', as well as cheetah, crocodile, topi and giraffe.

Dawn is the best time to be out in the savannah to see wildlife, and there are various activities on offer so you can experience this magical time of day in a number of ways. Go on game drives in open vehicles, guided game walks or balloon safaris over the wide plains of the Masai Mara.

There is no electricity, but flickering lanterns add to the peaceful atmosphere of the forest. Meals at Little Governors' Camp are of a high standard, and cater to all dietary needs. Breakfast and lunch are served in the outdoor dining area, and it is not uncommon for the meal to be 'disturbed' by an elephant wandering by.

You can start the day with a cooked breakfast, as well as croissants and fresh fruit. Lunch usually consists of a buffet of pastas, salads and grills.

An a la carte dinner is served in the candlelit dining tent, and the evening is usually rounded off with chilled drinks and safari stories around the crackling campfire, before retiring to your cosy bed heated by a hot-water bottle.

The staff at tLittle Governors' Camp will also be happy to prepare meals for you to enjoy closer to nature, in the bush.

Little Governors' Camp has 17 spacious tents set in a beautiful location in a fringe of forest surrounding a natural waterhole. From your private verandah it is common to see warthog and elephant, and at night you may frequently find yourself drifting off to sleep to the sound of grunting hippo.

The tents are tastefully furnished. Each has a very comfortable bed, and en-suite bathroom with hot and cold running water, and even a bidet.
