Mara Basecamp Explorer is ideally located just outside the world-renowned Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya and provides the ideal base from which to explore this wildlife reserve.

The lodge offers 16 rustic tented suites beneath thatch roofs. As well as having an outdoor hot-water shower, each en suite tent has its own private veranda where you can spend time relaxing in a hammock.

The ideal location of Mara Basecamp Explorer means that there are a wealth of activities available for you to enjoy, including day and night game drives and nature walks in the park, bird watching, and magical balloon safaris.

The lodge is committed to the protection and preservation of the natural environment and makes use of a variety of eco-friendly practices, including solar power and recycling of waste materials. You can also get involved by buying and planting indigenous trees.

The local community is also very involved at the lodge, and you'll have the opportunity to get to know more about their traditions and cultures on village visits and through interactions with your Maasai guide.
