DiningThe Dining Room
Located in the main building of the Mara Safari Club, the dining room is hewn out of wood beams and glass, allowing natural light to filter into the high-ceilinged, spacious room. Evenings are cosy in the softly lit area, and the menu is a cosmopolitan combination of European, African and Asian dishes, made from the abundance of fresh Kenyan produce. Both breakfast and lunch are served buffet-style, while dinner is Table d'hôte, with a choice of main course.
The Lounge & Main Bar
The Mara Safari Club's lounge is also in the main building and is sectioned off to create "private" seating areas. The decor has a definite African flavour, with woven wall hangings, and Masai artefacts, and an extended veranda with superb views of the Mara River. A fire is lit each evening. This area is the venue for the Masai Dancers, slide shows and lectures.
The Pool Bar
Located at the swimming pool, the Pool Bar is a shaded area, with bar stools set around the curved structure. Also, just off the bar, weather permitting, buffet lunches are served, and a barbecue pit is located close to the bar.
Room service offers morning tea/coffee/hot-chocolate with wake-up calls.
The Mara Safari Club has a total of 50 tents, including 10 double-bedded Premium tents.
The luxurious en suite tents are spread along an ox-bow of the Mara River. Each has a game-viewing veranda, a netted 4-poster bed, "lamps" (electrical), a dressing table, hand-woven rugs and poster-bed drapes. All tents also have square-pin electric sockets for easy charging of video cameras, cameras and other electric gadgets. Each tent has a permanent bathroom with a shower or bath, flush toilet, washbasin, freshly laundered towels and solar-heated hot and cold running water.
The Premium Tents have sunken baths in the bathrooms. There is also a platform between these tents and the standard tents, allowing for superb game-viewing and private dining.
