The Mara Serena Safari Lodge has a beautiful hilltop location overlooking the rolling plains and woodlands of the Masai Mara, one of the world's richest wildlife sanctuaries. The annual migration of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle takes place across these plains, and even outside of the migration you can look forward to spectacular sightings.

You can spend your day on a game drive, enjoy a morning bird walk with the lodge's resident naturalist or visit a traditional Masai Manyatta (village). A great extra is a hot air balloon safari, where you drift in silence above the plains and enjoy a bird's eye view of the wildlife below, then descend to a scenic champagne breakfast cooked and served in the middle of the bush.

The lodge is styled on a traditional Masai Manyatta village of domed huts that blend into the natural landscape. The standard of service at Mara Serena Safari Lodge is exceptional, nothing is too much trouble.

Beauty therapy and massage treatments should help you have a relaxing stay, and in the evening you can enjoy tribal dancing displays, as well as wildlife and cultural talks, videos and film shows.

Note: Because of poor road conditions, the overland journey from Nairobi can take 6-7 hours. For this reason we recommend taking one of the daily flights from Nairobi directly to the private landing strip at Mara Serena Safari Lodge.

The Mara Serena's dining room overlooks a waterhole where you will frequently see elephant, wildebeest and other wildlife. In the evening the restaurant has a relaxed, candlelit atmosphere.

The lodge provides you with plenty of opportunities to dine in the open, including breakfast by the 'Hippo Pool', bush dinners, private picnics and evening sundowners at one of the Mara's many vantage points.

All the guest rooms of Mara Serena Safari Lodge are housed in individual domed huts grouped in a circular manner. Each room is carefully spaced to ensure magnificent views from the balcony, over the Mara river and plains below.

The furnishings of each room have been inspired by traditional Masai art. Decor is cheerful, with a modern bathroom with a large shower. Beds have mosquito nets, to ensure a peaceful night's sleep.
