Saruni, Masai Mara is a deluxe and intimate lodge set in a remote valley in Africa's great wilderness - the Masai Mara. Based on a close partnership with the local community and built to ecological standards, Saruni strives to combine a wildlife adventure with high standards of style and comfort.
You can explore the Masai Mara's plains, mountains and rivers by enjoying game drives, game walks, bird watching, hiking, cultural visits to the Maasai villages and experiencing bush lunches, dinners and sundowners in the middle of the savanna.
Between game viewing activities at Saruni, you can pamper yourself at the Maasai Wellbeing Space, a private treatment spa hidden in the valley's olive and cedar forest.
The spa uses local plants for beauty and relaxation treatments and has been designed to provide a completely serene and relaxing environment. Enjoy a massage or wellness treatment while watching bushbuck and elephants roaming through the forest.
Location
Saruni, Masai Mara is located in the northern Masai Mara, in a valley just north of the game-rich Aitong area, Kenya.
You can begin your evening with drinks around the fireplace as you take in the calls of the nocturnal animals. Gourmet cuisine follows at the main table or in the privacy of your cottage.
Saruni, Masai Mara also offers you the opportunity to enjoy a gourmet meal at a decorated table deep in the forest or beside the Mara River, overlooking a 'hippo beach'.
The atmosphere at Saruni, Masai Mara is informal but elegant, with accommodation for only 12 guests in 6 uniquely styled cottages decorated with Colonial antiques, Persian carpets and African art.
Your safari continues when you climb into your large cedar bed - where you can enjoy views down onto the plains. Each cottage is set high up among the Aitong hills and offer spectacular views.
Each large en suite bathroom has elegant Italian fittings, and a canvas front which can be totally open to offer you an amazing 'shower with a view'.
Saruni also has an exclusive tented camp, Saruni Wild, with just 3 tents, one of which is a family tent. Situated 10km away from the main lodge, it offers guests the chance to experience an authentic tented safari experience.
